When you were younger, what did you
imagine your future might look like and how
does that compare to where you are now?
When I was younger, I always imagined myself doing something in
engineering. My dad is very hands-on, a bit of a jack of all trades, and
I’d often be out working with him, so that’s probably where it all started.
In school, maths was my strong point, so I naturally leaned into that and
thought engineering was the path for me.
At the time, though, apprenticeships were never really talked about,
especially in an all-girls school. It wasn’t something I even knew was an
option. So when it was introduced to me later, it just clicked. It made so
much sense.
What drew me into data centres was actually the unknown. It feels like
a completely new space where I could learn, grow, and do something
different every day. And looking at where I am now, that’s exactly what
I’ve found.
