How have your values shaped the
decisions you make about work,
leadership and progression?
This is something I have become much more aware of in
recent years.
After losing someone very close to me, I spent some
time re昀氀ecting on what was important to me, and that
led to de昀椀ning my core values more clearly. Growth,
transparency, honesty and love were among the ones
that stood out. Once I had those identi昀椀ed, I started to
use them as a bit of a 昀椀lter, both in my personal life and
in my career.
If I’m in an environment where those values aren’t
aligned, whether that’s the company, the culture or the
people, then I know something isn’t quite right. It helps
me make decisions more clearly.
It’s also helped me be more authentic in how I lead. I’m
not trying to 昀椀t into a certain mould anymore. I’m much
more focused on what feels right to me and how I can
create an environment that re昀氀ects that.

something new to learn,
and that sense of constant
development is what has
kept me engaged.”
