Primary Environment KPIs
We have increased the granularity of our waste reporting, including for
customer waste in 2025-26 via our new FM partner CBRE. We aim to enhance
transparency in the coming years so readers can understand the carbon
footprint of our waste footprint.
100% waste diverted from land昀椀ll, re-used or recycled, via waste
contracts. This includes waste burnt for green energy (standard practice
for all providers)2.
Water ef昀椀ciency and conservation is an increasingly important topic with
our stakeholders and we are looking at closed loop and liquid cooling
technologies to assist with lower water consumption (focus on new build-outs;
see KLON-03 case study on page 21).

We seek to continually improve Customer NPS via proactive engagements.
The last survey was in March 2025. Due to the commissioning of KLON-03 we
are currently working to obtain 2026 feedback, which we will report in next
year’s reporting cycle. This is not typical of our tracking but is a temporary
delay due to development considerations.
Expanded the reach of our Critical Careers platform via our podcast, book and
other engagements. Expanded the work of the Kao Academy and delivered
£60,000 of grants through our Community Impact Strategy in 2025-26.

We transitioned to a new waste provider during 2025-26, hence the recycling percentage dipping just below 100%
(when combining all sites). Our Harlow campus remained at 100% in the reporting period.

Signi昀椀cant upgrade in HSE management and performance by establishing
a uni昀椀ed Safe System of Work (SSOW) via CBRE partnership using new
e-logbooks. In 2025-26 Kao Data achieved a 96.4% mandatory core training
completion rate across the CBRE platform, including 100% completion of all
mandatory HSE training requirements, supported by 183 hours of training
delivery. Gone beyond compliance with additional specialist bespoke in-house
courses: CDM awareness, manual handling, risk assessments and 昀椀rst aid.
We stress that these are temporary reductions linked to estate growth and expansion activities rather than a negative change in our
approach to waste and circularity. With our new CBRE FM partners we now have a strengthened capacity to maintain consistent
recycling levels going forward.
