Social Sustainability
Governance
The last twelve months have been another year packed full
of activity and innovation at Kao Data, and throughout the
data centre industry more broadly. One of the key highlights
for me was being an attendee of Nvidia’s annual GTC2026
(Global Technology Conference), where I came away with
one essential phrase: Scale in Every Direction.
While GTC2026 clearly con昀椀rmed to me the signi昀椀cant
growth opportunities for Kao Data, it also highlighted some
of the biggest challenges for data centre operators. Indeed,
speaking with both attendees and with our customers about
GPU deployment requirements has con昀椀rmed what Kao
Data already knows: the move to ultra-high rack densities is
real and accelerating.
With this comes the pressing need for ever more sustainable
and scalable data centre environments. Throughout my
recent engagements, it has become increasingly clear to
me that Kao Data’s approach to sustainable operations,
energy ef昀椀cient performance and industry-leading resilience
is not just pioneering; it offers a proven, AI-ready blueprint
for sustainable expansion. This blueprint is already
enabling us to meet our obligations as a signatory to the
Climate Neutral Data Centre Pact (CNDCP), while offering
continuous, climate-conscious computing to our customers,
who span well beyond the AI space.
Density demands: Water in focus
With density demands ramping up to meet the needs
of AI factories and AI driven workloads, there is now an
even greater demand for energy-ef昀椀cient and watersmart data centre designs that can keep pace. Liquidcooled technology can therefore no longer be considered
innovation; it is now simply a baseline requirement for any
data centre.
