YoY Progress highlights, and aims.
Total energy consumed (MWh)
122,101.95
152,508.20
As part of Kao Data's continual growth and expansion, this 昀椀gure will increase however from a
delta perspective of Site Load to IT Load, we will continue to monitor and work to have this delta a
ef昀椀cient as possible. These efforts include both utility and generators, as well as via new innovations/
technologies such as new cooling systems aimed at high density compute that will ultimately help
reduce energy consumption.

We continue to look for ways to reduce energy intensity through design and operational innovation,
as well as looking at new technologies.

As Kao Data has continued to grow and expand, we have worked with our utility provider to stay ahead
of capacity demand. During the year, our capacity had increased past what our existing wind farm
partner could provide, so we have now partnered with our utility provider to have our green energy
provided by Dogger Bank. When fully operational, this will be the world’s largest wind farm, capable of
producing up to 3.6GW. This provides excellent growth capability to Kao Data helping ensure we can
continue to have Green energy capacity that matches are scaling and evolving estate.

We aim for an average PUE of 1.4 across the estate by 2030. With four operational sites currently, and a
昀椀fth coming online towards the end of 2026, we are on target for meeting our objective in lowering our
PUE average across the estate. As we onboard and prime more new sites, we will continue to focus on
ef昀椀ciency and sustainability to continually focus on meeting our objectives (aligned with CNDCP).

Kao Data continues to have Waste Management Contracts in place that ensures 100% diversion from
land昀椀ll. Currently we do not re-use any of the energy provided to site. Waste Management Contracts
in place have 0% to land昀椀ll, 100% diversion via recycling, reusing, or conversion to green energy.
With our new Waste Management Contractor in place, we are now being able to report, not only
what type of waste collected and the weights, but also categorises where the waste has gone e.g.
% recycled, % re-used and % used for production of green energy. Further enhancing our
commitment to a Green Waste strategy and lowering on carbon footprint.

100% - Continue to maintain programme. With our new Waste Management contractor, we will have
better reporting metrics around disposal of our electronic equipment.

Kao Data continue to work with our new FM partner CBRE for enhanced reporting on the
segregation of waste. We are currently assessing ways we can analyse and breakdown waste for
future reporting, this 昀椀gure also includes elements of customer waste when on site (e.g. packaging).

"100% - Continue to maintain program and analyse diversion data reports to optimise reuse,
recycling and green energy production opportunities.
Noted that change to single waste contractor, so some initial challenges in integration and reporting,
saw a blip - but provider is 100% diversion from land昀椀ll"

Contractor, we are exploring better reporting metrics and breakdown analysis for next reporting period.
